Sending Kouga ahead Eden awakens his Seventh Sense and challenges Mars, immobilizing him with his Cosmo. Eventually, while Kouga struggles to retrieve Aria's staff at the top of the Sanctuary, Mars breaks free and grievously wounds Eden, temporarily defeating him.
